War for the Planet of the Apes 2017
Unbelievably good. Cried several times. Serkis's Caesar is amazing. The core non-human cast is great. Winter, Rocket, Maurice, Luca, and of course the dread Koba, all delivered performances that lost little if anything to their being apes. Ape vs man violence, man vs man violence, ape vs ape violence, touching story, great acting. Harrelson sells the jihadi jingo.

Pretty sick. Cool father daughter reunion plotline but its also man-vs-nature with a collegiate swimmer battling enormous alligators to save the life of her father and herself amid an enormous hurricane. Was disappointed by the infrequency of practical effects, given that this was the perfect opportunity for some Jurassic Park style prop work. Despite these shortcomings, Crawl knows where to deliver: alligators eating people. There are some really crazy alligator dismemberments and deaths. Totally worth the watch.
