god this movie. this movie is so so special.. i feel like there are a million needles under my skin prickling every part of my body and my stomach is eating itself and i want to puke all my feelings out.

felt like a warm hug :') the soundtrack is amazing, i almost felt like i was in a ghibli film idk it was so nostalgic. i love beautifully-told, quiet, nostalgic films so so much.
* this ended up as my first shunji iwai film to watch despite starting lily chou-chou first xd it has lost me a few times since its pretty long aaa but i will def finish it soon ..
i saw myself in both david and benji and felt like i was simultaneously being stabbed with a double-edged sword.. ? i was laughing then i was punched in the gut and then laughed through my tears and then cried even more. this was beautiful .. ohh man i need more movies like this
(let me just add that with kieran, i already expected that hes going to be Great but jesse surprised me. every quiver and tremble in his voice broke my heart. i felt it all)
