  2 scare.

  I enjoyed the first movie for its world building and novelty of the genre. I know it’s based on a real ghost hunting couple, and am inclined to view them as con artists, but I saw the movie as a “what if” thrill ride that showed me what professional ghost hunting would look like in a world that needs it.

  Good leads and a fun concept is sometimes all you need. I was definitely looking for more from this movie, but Anya Taylor-Joy served. So that’s a win.

  The main problem comes from it’s very on-the-nose messaging, line delivery, and spooks. The film tries to disturb you with layers of weirdness and violence, but those two elements alone weren’t enough get me sweatin’.
