I don’t know why it took me so long to watch this movie, but after watching it I completely understand. The story is slow at the beginning but the more I watched the more I appreciated the scenes that took their time and lingered. Showing moments and memories through a progression of time. The scene where we watch the Polaroid develop was particularly successful at this.

This film was incredible, the visuals were stunning and how each character emoted was captivating. I am in love with this movie and the visuals will stick with me for a long time. The message was beautiful and I always appreciate anti-war themes (especially from Guillermo del Toro). Disney could never compare to this film.
