  I’m not generally enthusiastic about art house cinema, but I often do find the films interesting at some level and even do appreciate them at times.

  I had a hard time with Gertrud though. I sure do see some of the master’s filmmaking in it and I normally do like the understated take on storytelling but boy oh boy I didn’t like the acting at all. Especially not Nina Pens Rode’s. Talking like she has some sort of neurodevelopmental disorder…

  At its time of release apparently this was the perfect combo of bad comedy and bad porn spiced with bad storytelling, bad direction and acting, bad cinematography and why not add some sexual assault in the mix as well.
