Quietly stunning, almost obscenely so. The attention paid to the placement of objects, the arrangement of interiors, the movement of late afternoon sunlight on a face. Why make a newsroom/legal procedural so beautiful? A hallucinatory quality to watching it today: I grieve for a time when we collectively believed in the news, in its mandate to hold power accountable. But did such a time ever exist in America?
