  seeing this movie at the pathé tuschinski cinema in amsterdam was an exceptional experience. the art deco decor and vintage sofas really made the experience unforgettable.

  but oh my god, was i scared. the acting and make-up were particularly terrifying. there are many scenes where there is a kind of surreal dimension to the film.
  there is a scene where thomas first meets count orlok and you can see the terror slowly creeping over thomas' face that i really liked.…

  i don’t know much about the poet sayat-nova, but instead i got to discover and appreciate how deep and beautiful the armenian culture is. i can’t really describe either what’s happening inside the movie, but i think it was intentionally made to be interpreted by the viewer, just like poems.
  i love how the still camerawork makes way for to a complex details that makes each frame genuinely looks like painting.
  it was a nice watch 🍇
