Saltburn 2023
This film is trying to do so many things at once that it just comes out as splooge.
It's the worst kind of film, one that leaves you hanging on to the end only to deliver nothing but confusion and disappointment. It's not so obviously and outwardly bad that you can just stop taking it seriously, but there's never a payoff to any of the things that are set up throughout.

The History Boys 2006
This film is a camp masterpiece. It is full of fun even when the things happening are dull.
It does drone on a bit, with the perpetual academic dick-measuring contest that goes on, and how it thoroughly hammers each plot point home.
But, despite all its ponciness, the hyperrealness of its representation of grammar schools, and its frivolous treatment of the issue of bodily boundaries. Something about this film really sticks with me in a warm kinda way. Like it…
