¿Does it convey the message about the dire situation of liberal democracies? Yes… but the movie is often pretentious and bites way more than it can chew, stacking up too many analogies in prop shots, when they could’ve just straight up omitted them and make a short film with a decent cast.
I guess the whole movie really is just about how the G7 functions huh.
The film is emotionally and visually repulsive all the way through, and as a viewer you will not find any sort of gratification until the very las moments of the film. With that being said the picture has become a favorite to me, because of the very feeling of repulsion that I felt watching it, it hooked me. I personally can not stand gore and I dislike movies which abuse the instrument, but I was addicted to this film from beginning to end. I thoroughly recommend it, specially if you want to be challenged as a viewer. Lars Von Tier is a genius.
