  i just love sofia coppola's aesthetic and her exploration of femininity in all of her movies, in addition to kirsten dunst' s acting. the part where she says "let them eat cake/ i would never say that" really shows the truth of her character and it really contrasts with what the public made her out to be.

  the only reason i'm giving this movie 2.5 stars is hugh grant. it had so much potential and somehow they managed to waste it on superficial conversations and emotionless sentences. the love story has no development whatsoever and we just have to believe that charlie has a lot of reasons to have fallen in love other than momentary infatuation.
