Probably the best David Lynch experience you can have!
Too often this movie is summarized too briefly with the angst of fatherhood. For me, Lynch shows much more in his magnum opus here, namely the problems and resulting anxieties of growing up and finding one's way into the mechanics of a middle-class life. And Lynch deals with this subject with such completeness in combination with a visionary stylistic perfection that one becomes sad when looking at the current film landscape, as these kinds of films have not been made for a long time and probably won't be made again in the near future.Translated from by -
