  So many brave doc protagonists this year! Shiori pushed this movie from a 4 to a 4.5 for me with her uncanny ability to bring levity to a depressing topic. Similar to No Other Land, seeing the subject’s human reactions to injustice around them helps me understand while also admiring them.

  A perfect blend of personal and political. It was more emotional than intellectual, which I think is important for a subject everyone knows a little about already.

  Equally sweet and saddening. This movie makes you feel the impact of the US imprisoning so many of its people. 

  This is the first time I’m learning about the lack of visitation in jails. I don’t know what these men are in for, but they deserve to see their families.
