In his third season with the Brooklyn Dodgers (arguably his best stat wise), Jackie Robinson hit 124 RBIs, 16 home runs and led the league in WAR, batting average and stolen bases, on his way toward almost winning the World Series.
After playing in the World Series and being named that season’s MVP, Robinson spent that off season starring as himself in this movie that ends (on the field) with his hitting the pennant winning RBI his rookie year after…

An almost shockingly progressive (in parts … less so in others) movie about nurses in training. A deeply degraded (missing reels, constant blurriness and off center in parts) Loretta Young film that’s only available by appointment in UCLA’s Film Archives (literally past the microfiche room).
It might be low expectations, but this assuredly exceeded them - basically a Peyton Place meets Call the Midwife.
It’s a small scene, but Judy Garland does a pratfall at one point that’s the funniest I’ve seen? And this is on top of a scene where she throws an entire room at Gene Kelly.
