    Just so much to love. Diane Ladd and Willem Dafoe turned up to 11, Nic Cage doing an improbably flawless Elvis. Laura Dern is, of course, doing something wonderful here. Lula reminds me of me at 20, on a ride that feels like a fantasy until it doesn't, completely sincere in her feelings the entire way. It's such a big performance and so over-the-top, and always feels so earnest. Wild at Heart is so special to me. Something about it…

    very much liked maxxxine as a movie, very much didn't love it in relation to x or pearl. it didn't feel like part of the trilogy and honestly didn't really feel like horror for the most part, but it leaned really heavily into the 80s hollywood aesthetic which i really enjoyed. seeing it as a standalone movie probably would have changed my opinion but you also kind of have to have seen X
