  Napoleon 2023

  This was impressive in so many ways. The battle scenes were gripping and the more intimate moments compelling.

  However, even though this was supposed to be more a character study than history lesson, we didn’t dive into Napoleon’s character enough for it to feel that way. I think this falls victim to the scale of Napoleon’s story; these immense historical elements have to unfold alongside a character study and there simply isn’t enough time for it. This left me feeling a little unsatisfied with the films direction and that is what brings this down to a 3.5 for me, even though I enjoyed the spectacle.

  "Prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to man. For this he was chained to a rock and tortured for eternity."

  I can safely say I have never been more excited to watch a film in cinema. From that first teaser with simply a timer I had high, high expectations and they were all met. That opening quote gave me goosebumps and from that moment it was ridiculously good, a masterpiece from start to finish.

  I always have high expectations of any Bong Joon Ho film and I think he has delivered again. Also, Robert Pattinson is very good in this to the point where I would believe Mickey 17 and 18 are being played by two different actors, a very impressive performance.

  It is really tough to review a film that was just okay. I think the concept here was an interesting one but Hypnotic just didn’t take advantage of that. I enjoyed parts and I'm happy that I got the opportunity to watch this a week early.

  I felt the run time was just right for the film, because I would have got disinterested had it continued, but at the same time 92 mins just wasn't enough to make this anything…

  This was actually really really fun. I can’t say I expected much going into it but I was pleasantly surprised. 

  It is a lighthearted, happy and genuinely funny story. I laughed on quite a few occasions and it was able to touch on modern trends without making me cringe at any point like a lot of films do.
