    Oceans 7/11 really hits the nail on the head here in a number of ways. Sure the writing isn’t great, the jokes are take em or leave em, and the acting is meh (bit of a surprise considering how stacked this cast is). 

    However, Blue-collar America is a major theme throughout this film and is presented in a way that doesn’t make it pretentious, on the contrary in fact. It’s a thin line between appreciating something for what it is and what it could be, a line Soderberg seemed very aware of while making this. Despite its short comings, it’s a really charming film.

    We’ve all seen the hero’s journey and in that regard, this film is about as formulaic as it comes. But it’s not about that, it’s about the journey.
