The Butterfly Effect 2004
I spent the entirety of this movie with my mouth agape. So profoundly bad but in the most creative ways possible. The nosebleed scenes were constant. Random racial slurs and questionable themes surrounding living with a disability. The hot guy from my name is earl was in it though.

Genuinely hilarious. I understand that this is not the intended point of the film.
Efron does deliver an authentic and seemingly well prepped performance- however the pacing, cinematography, and odd forced sentimentality makes this film almost a farce. Brother Heaven is quite possibly the funniest film moment I’ve experienced all of 2023.

Dinner in America 2020
For lovers of the counter culture, sticky and odorous fringe films that capture what can only be described as “discomfort-core”. Kyle Gallner approaches this character from a distinctly aggressive and off putting direction, but we are softened nonetheless by his emo-boyishness. Surprisingly moving, briefly microwaving any cynic’s dried out heart. The only slight disappointment is for any dialogue that attempts a “deeper meaning”. This film seems dissatisfied with the quaint story it tells, and reaches for something larger- when the small arc we follow says more than any so-deep monologue tries to.
