A thrilling, unsettling and deeply symbolic study of self-perception, insecurity and identity, it's no surprise that The Face of Another lives on almost sixty years since its release. What was perhaps prophetic at the time now also feels like a very real and somewhat uncomfortable allegory for the anonymity and altar egos we all live via the internet, surely a testament to the thoughtfulness and craft of both this film and its original source material. This is undoubtedly a must-watch for any cinephile.
