Letters to Juliet 2010
Looking back, I admire how this movie really said, You know what would be fun? A spontaneous trip to Italy, uncovering lost love stories, and having a romance straight out of a novel. And honestly? It had a point. Maybe I was a little too invested as a kid, but can you blame me? It had everything, sun-drenched vineyards, dramatic declarations of love, and, most importantly, the fantasy of meeting a man who’s a little bit annoying but in a charming way.

There was something about this film that felt different from the last adaptation. Perhaps it was the cinematography. In the very beginning, there was a warmth to the visuals, soft, saturated hues of orange and gold, almost like nostalgia bleeding into every frame. But as the film progressed, that warmth faded. By the end, everything felt colder, starker.
It wasn’t the shock of a sudden twist when she passed away that resonated with me, it was the quiet, lingering melancholy…
