Let’s address the elephant in the room (pun intended), it had no right being so long.
That said, Chazelle's depiction of Hollywood and the industry as a whole truly peaked here, exposing the crude reality behind the scenes. Furthermore, the film doesn’t shy away from showcasing the real challenges of productions, like the limited time for natural light, managing actors and capturing clean audio (THE MOST STRESSFUL PART OF EDITING AND FILMING, CHANGE MY MIND).
But by far, the most beautiful aspect of the film is how it portrays the characters’ passions, each of them driven by their need to transcend through the medium.
