In lieu of ominous music as a harbinger of doom, Kurosawa has mastered his craft such that across his filmography, he deftly deploys innocuous colours and hues as a means to portray sinister themes and moments.
An interesting premise that's undermined by an uneven tone, subpar writing, and a narrative that finds itself pulled in multiple different directions. I appreciated the effort however, to try something different.
