Movie is hollow. It’s supposed to be about this girl but you know NOTHING about her, her family, her life outside work. I guess you know a little more about Vanya and can infer more about his priorities or how he was raised but truly everything was surface level. Surface level people, surface level story, surface level emotions. A cool scene here and there but overall disappointing. Movie completely missed the mark on making Anora seem like a strong woman or even a real character at all. It’s all flat
I guess it’s a fun movie but definitely not an Oscar winner.

Never have I seen a movie so strong, beautiful and yet devastating. Normally movies about horrific parts of history just focus on the problem itself. I loved seeing the view point of the family, those affected. And on top of that we were able to enjoy the warmth, fondness, and joy of the family for the first 30 minutes.
