War for the Planet of the Apes 2017
Right from the start I could some direct references to the Vietnam War, and when I heard about the mad Colonel it became clear that Apocalypse Now was going to be a big-big influence on this. I think it was a bit much for them to give more explicit reference to that (and some other films), because it felt forced and didn't serve anything.
Although the script could have been a bit tighter, the atmosphere building, music, acting and the…

Gladiator II 2024
Recently during the release of Megalopolis, Coppola said that his film draws on Roman history and his belief about how America is based on the principles of Roman Empire (Pretty sure all this was already known and is a very-very popular idea, just saying that I came to know of it from him).

Kaun? 1999
Obviously the film warrants comparison to Suspiria '77 and Halloween '78 due to it's colouring, soundtrack and other reason but in my opinion this is a better film than both of them. Kahaani 2012
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
though i am not a fan of films like these which present us with the fake flashbacks and then give a middle finger to the viewers (eg., Usual Suspects), this one was a pretty pretty pretty good film, better than Ghosh's Badla (2019) (which btw also employs some of techniques used in this film.)
one plot-hole is that the army officer bajpayee is first presented as "Captain" and at the end of the film he becomes "Colonel", but since this does not really make any difference to the story you can ignore it.
