Too many people expect the typical plot from a horror/crime film: chasing the bad guy, saving the victim, and trying to understand the killer’s behaviour. Well, sure, we all want a film with well-developed characters and a story behind each one. Even I do. However, the focus of this film was very interesting. The director, Tarsem Singh, wanted to focus on representing the twisted and deeply disturbed mind of a man, Carl. And Tarsem Singh succeeded exceptionally. The way he portrayed the traumatic backstory of the serial killer Carl is simply impressive.
