  Moneyball 2011

  This movie is not so much about baseball, as it is about seeing things in a different light and risking everything for something you believe in.

  It's pretty sober, with just a pinch of music. Moody cinematics, traces of subtle humor.
  Natural acting with some convincing jagged edges by diva Pitt and the other heavily starred cast. Decent dialogues with a realistic touch to it.
  Good movie, but not incredibly immersive or moving. Perhaps that's just the theme though; I use my being European as an excuse for my lack of affinity for baseball.

  Rise of the Planet of the Apes 2011

  A thrilling heroic fable about rebellion and an evolving evolution.
  In contrary to some of the earlier movies and series of the Apes franchise, the characters in this movie are very convincingly done; the stunning animations create a hyperreality that somehow feels natural and emotive.
