It wasn't my fault.
I can't stand people with zero accountability, so unfortunately I didn't like anybody in this movie. And though they definitely tried, I did not find myself compelled to sympathize with Tonya as a protagonist at all.

It definitely starts off as slowburn. The whole first act is all about establishing character dynamics, plot devices, setting. Ultimately it all pays off as Fede Alvarez utilizes every bit of it throughout the film.
I'll have to rewatch this as it can definitely be my second favorite of the franchise. It also has a case to be the scariest and most shocking of the franchise.

I love that the call operator says everything that the audience is thinking because it could have been very easy to find Elizabeth/Sue an annoying character. I think this is a lesson for any writers out there that characters can be frustrating but it's better if the film acknowledges it so it's not a burden on the viewer.
