  Unbelievably ambitious and technically impressive at every turn, and looks sharper than so many films coming out today.
  Was not sure what to expect going in (monkeys,
  Evil AI?) but was pleasantly surprised at a very satisfying slow burn AND still being intrigued and mystified by the plot. I love a human evolution metaphor/alien bootstrap scifi text so loved this, and so clearly influential on so many of my other favourites in the genre, stunning. Have to go see at the movies some time for the full experience

  The nostalgia is hard but jaknowwhat it's just amazing, sure it's a monster movie but it just does it SO WELL

  Not the mention The debates on science, chaos and philosophy; natural selection and tradition vs progress for the sake of progress and hedonistic capitalist joy, and the hubris and greed that lead to the downfall, beautiful! Also the animatronics and performances are stellar

  And sure the ol JP classic has been forever tainted and gone down the make-a-billion dollars…
