Do you remember the day you figured out how to make the perfect PB&J? And from then on you knew exactly how much peanut butter to spread and your favorite brand of jam? You finally realized that crunchy was better than creamy and how to spread all the way to the crust. Sure, it was just a PB&J but it was yours and you now knew you would make it the same way for the rest of your life.

Disney makes great PB&J's y'all and this is a stellar sandwich.

Why does this feel like a Night at the Museum sequel? And why is this Night at the Museum sequel two and a half hours long? And if this Night at the Museum sequel really is set in 1984, why does it never once mention the Detroit Tigers and the amazing double play combination of Alan Trammel and Lou Whitaker?

As the old saying goes, "Two dishonors don't make an honor" or something like that.

I don't think I was quite as captivated as most at the tapestry of this tale but it unfolds so beautifully and with such artistry that I couldn't help but admire it.

This is honestly more Ingrid's movie than Bing's and it's to the movie's benefit. She brings both heart and humor to what is mostly an overlong moralistic tale with not much else going for it.

There’s “not for me” and then there is “not for me and also I’d rather not talk about it because it’s so bankrupt of cohesive ideas and themes that I’m worried I’ll come off as judgmental of anyone who likes it.”

This is how you do a part one!

A Beginning , middle, AND an end. It's complete, whole, resolved on its own terms and yet still aware of what comes next.

Oh, and did I forget to mention how refreshing it is to see an action movie that understands action set pieces are a story conversation with the audience and not a way to numb them into submission through violence and spectacle alone? The way every set piece progresses with…
