Stoker had all the makings of a great film: a renowned director, a promising cast, and a visually compelling style. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a big letdown.

The first thing that strikes you about Stoker is its visual flair. Park Chan-wook’s direction is as meticulous as ever, crafting a film that looks and feels like a gothic painting come to life. The cinematography looks and feel good to look at. However, all the visual artistry in the world…

this film was a blast! it's an interesting story told in an interesting way.

It's a well-made, well-paced film that keeps you hooked from start to finish. I wasn't really expecting much going in, but damn, was I surprised. It's a well-crafted film that kept me glued to the screen from start to finish.

The casting for everyone is spot-on, but a special shoutout to Rufus Sewell (the one who played Prince Andrew). His transformation is incredible, I had no idea it was prosthetics until I saw the behind-the-scenes on Netflix.

It’s super slow. It could’ve been a really exciting and gripping detective story about a missing girl on an unfamiliar island with alien beliefs and traditions. Instead we have… this. Whatever this was.

This seems like it was directed by a newbie director, it was just poorly directed. And I felt like it was even shot by an inexperienced cinematographer, the way it was carelessly lit (unnatural shadows and very distracting framing and blocking). I was just baffled. The filmmaking…
