  Garth Davis' 'Lion' successfully masters the strengths of cinematic form to convey to the audience the contemporary possibilities of one being lost and out of place, bringing the viewers together by using universal experiences that make the character relatable. Whilst communicational technologies in ‘Lion’ is used to connect Saroo with his biological family through the use of Google Earth, it is also used beyond the screen in the real world as it connects Saroo with the audience and the audience with culture.
