Seemed more of a Yorgos Lanthimos film– the black and white frames of a girl turning into a woman, a lot of uncalled scripting around the uncanny sex, Willem Dafoe coming to the rescue of humanity in the form of sacrificial fate, and the abstract angles of each and every character bending on the emotional response to a god created by the norms of a society.
