Swing Girls 2004
SO CUTEEE! watched with lil bro and we both enjoyed (we’ve been on a Japanese film viewing streak this week)
always love this mix of coming of age / old time setting (pre-2010s) / music centric film as the plot focus (reminds me of Sing Street, my fav)
no idea why this is being compared to Whiplash (both great but incomparable imo) but I would strongly suggest watching Pixar’s Soul to get into the jazz groove even more
