  there's something really cool about shakespeare swapping the gender roles of suicide (poison is typically feminine and knives/guns masculine) like 400-something years ago

  this is such a smart film. the acting was incredible: i felt claire danes’ every emotion in my bones. also, dicaprio playing lovesick in this era works so well for me oops. the fast cuts and shakespearean language take a minute to get used to, but the speak allows for such incredible lines i never would’ve imagined. see i sound Olde English already! the shots were beautiful and creative, and i love the ideas in this.
