heartwarming little tale, gut bustingly funny as as someone who grew up a theatre kid. ayo edibiri was a delight as always.
i really don’t know what to think. i struggled between rating this 0 stars and 5 stars. while watching it was intensely painful and had me beating the fuck out of my couch, it really got me thinking about the ethics of consuming horror as a genre. yes i could have turned it off at any moment, but my connection to the family and the hope that they would escape kept me stuck, that’s where i struggle to accept Haneke’s…
i love that the editing and color grading were used here as plot driving devices rather than as a purely aesthetic ones. also, my dumbass couldn’t keep up, so the editing was practically helpful in enabling me to follow the story.
