haunting, beautiful, poetic, complex, the work crafted here is insane. Yuri’s wonderful empathetic performance leads the film showcasing the wonder and danger of the sea animal life and how unfair and beautiful it can truly be. Very adult for a kid’s film too for example something that has tainted and been burned in my mind since childhood: a bottle of alcohol thrown into the sea landing near the animals. Almost a Pandora’s box, a gift from the gods…but what’s inside? Poison. It’s scenes like this that demonstrate the beauty and philosophy of this film. quite profound and ahead of its time. a true work of art.
