Watching the spiralling downfall of someone greedy, arrogant, and selfish was a very shameful experience. Every decision was wrong and irrational, but in the end he paid for it. When you choose to gamble everything and attempt to make more than you should the result is that of great consequence. Everything went wrong, there were the few wins that were instantly trumped by something very bad happening. This movie was stressful. But it was different seeing Adam Sandler in a non comedy movie, showing the dark side of a jewellers life and how greed and arrogance will literally ruin your life.

SUSPENSE. I really enjoyed watching this movie, I’m surprised by its rating. As a thriller, it did its job. Beautiful film, amazing cinematography and great characters and writing. The yin-yang dynamic between our co-protagonists with their skin colour, lifestyle, pride, dignity, beautiful. The storytelling, the events, the slow yet strong bonding between the characters was phenomenal and felt natural. A long watch, but I’d recommend it.

I understand this movie is supposed to be satirical and cheesy, but it was just too cheesy. To the point where I was just cringing and didn’t really enjoy it. It had it’s moments, some things I genuinely found funny, but it just felt like it was forcefully trying to make you laugh, and not in a good way.
