Surprisingly good low budget film. It nails the heavy metal culture in an infectious way while providing a refreshingly welcome spin on zombie/possession horror. The acting is terrific, the writing is solid, and the commitment to the high concept is spot on.

Yeah, I watched this. Good looking female cast and so-so humor make it an okay viewing.

THE GUY FROM HARLEM is a very low budget exploitation film that tries to hit the appropriate genre marks. It misses most of the time, but provides a reasonably entertaining experience for those with the patience to sit through a modest run time. There's amateur acting, 70s dialog, and awkwardly staged action scenes that deliver with a unique charm that make this one an enjoyable curiosity. For added fun, take a shot every time one of the character picks up a rotary dial phone to make a call.
