  Are we conflating aesthetics with emotional impact here? Feels like shock factor is the reason for the hype behind this film. Don’t get me wrong, some things are made for enjoyments sake; there doesn’t always need to be some moral implication. With that in mind, Barry Keoghan is a generational talent - an outstanding performance. Regardless the story fell short for me, with no real motivation from the lead character and a pretty shite English accent from Jacob Elordi (I get it he’s hot, the bro still has to work though).

  Interesting perspective on a dark issue. Pushed my understanding of what it means to be self. To have agency of your life where you freed yourself to experience it without fear of consequence (within moral means that it).
