Mickey 17 portrays a dystopian future that doesn't seem very impossible seeing where the world is heading towards these days. Bong Joon Ho has used satire to shed light on everything that can go wrong with humankind, its emotions and technological advancements.
I wish I could think of this as mere fiction. I hope this doesn't become a prophecy.
Personally, I was unsure why Anora got its Oscar. The movie, however, did speak to me. The visuals, the acting, and the overall pacing was beautiful. The ending was unexpected, but did wonders for what I took away from the film. Anora is a raw tale, one that portrays how human nature is often unpredictable, or maybe extremely predictable.
Is GVM back? I can't really say. Is Dominic and the Ladies' Purse a good movie? I believe so.
While the movie did feel slightly slow towards the second half, the climax twist more than compensated for it. The whole Sherlock Holmes-y vibe was a welcome change to the route recent thrillers in the industry have taken.
Mammootty didn't have to do a lot of magic, because the movie didn't ask for it. That said, I'd want people to watch the movie because GVM has done something that he usually doesn't.
P.S. Ikka dances. Been a long time since I have seen that.
