Donnie Darko 2001
Watched the director’s cut. Definitely creative! It’s the type of film that forces you to search for “donnie darko explained” afterwards, which I don’t necessarily mean as a compliment. That being said, I read some really creative interpretations of this film that I found pretty compelling. Maybe if I watched it a second time I would be able to understand it better. Even at points where it didn’t totally make sense, the acting was good and the dialogue was funny. I still feel like it’s a bit overrated though

What I thought was going to be just a satirical dark comedy turned out to be a far more moving film than I imagined. This is a true masterpiece; left me speechless

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F 2024
The film relies heavily on nostalgia from the first movies, but doesn’t quite capture the original magic. Axel and Serge carried on the comedy front. I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either! Overall it was thoroughly ok.
