and once again i’m crying.
i’ve always appreciated films/ novels who let the women be as emotionally and physically unfiltered as they want to be. it’s so refreshing to me because it is so incredibly honest and the world does not appreciate honest, crazy women enough.

COMPLETELY FUCKING INSANE. The most disturbing movie i’ve seen in a long long fucking time. But on a psychological note, this movie is so sad. Women are trapped in the bondage that patriarchy has invented. Our whole life is structured around putting on this performance to be accepted and loved and admired. To be cherished and adored we must present ourselves as the most beautiful…the most talented…
And this is all for men and their sick minds. There is beauty in aging and being authentically yourself, no matter what that looks like.

We Need to Talk About Kevin 2011
such an amazing but deeply saddening movie. for me, it wasn’t a movie about a reminder to take your birth control pill, but i think it really shows how a parent’s love is the root of a child’s development.
the mother didn’t really want kevin, which caused a lot of lack of her patience in care. but the dad was a complete let down in never standing up for his wife when kevin misbehaved… and never held his son accountable.
together, they unfortunately parented a child who lacked acceptable social skills.
