Weird, funny, satirical, did I mention weird? And kind of touching. Ultimately wasn't sure what the film was trying to say, but that's ok. It's open for interpretation and it's thought-provoking.

Upon a second viewing, The Rider falls a bit flatter than I first remembered, and it's definitely not a perfectly crafted film. That being said, I love the delicate and realistic direction of Chloe Zhao. This is what makes The Rider special.
