star wars is such an interesting piece of pulp bc amidst the gang bc amidst the silliness of “how will the gang get themselves out of THIS situation??” and yoda acting like an annoying elderly relative and there being a literal laughing muppet in jabba’s palace there are such beautiful tender moments that make the series possess the heart that it does.
Luke and Vader’s relationship goes from being just hero/villain to father/son SO quickly and it’s done so effectively…

absolutely ADORABLE movie that was much much better than i expected going in. The animation is stellar and they do such a good job of selling the comic book/kid’s cartoon silly hijinx, combined with the general humor that works for kids and 21 year old college students this film rocks.
