Oldboy 2003
What… the actual hell was this plot? A rollercoaster that starts off as what seems to be a standard action mystery, but then turns into a series of bombshell revelations that had me reeling for most of the last quarter. It can be a bit confusing at the beginning, but I found that most of my questions had been answered by the end.
The acting was very good all around - the antagonist, especially, was really convincing in his motivations…

I have mixed feelings about this film. It tells the stories of flawed people, each without the help they could desperately do with. Because of this, although I found myself invested in the story, I also found myself feeling quite uncomfortable for most of the film. Though this shows that the characters and story were well crafted and compelling, my technical appreciation can’t erase the fact that I’m not sure I enjoyed the experience.
