  Sheesh...Not the best movie I've ever seen, but it was certainly thrilling for all 90 minutes. Lots of unrealistic elements that distract, but that's not the point. This was all about generating discomfort, and it definitely hits the mark there.

  If you like Warren Miller ski movies, you'll love The Endless Summer. In fact, if you close your eyes, you might almost think old Warren himself were narrating this one.

  Sting: Bring on the Night 1985

  I already had tons of respect for Sting, but this documentary gave me a whole new appreciation for his prowess as a composer. His first solo album was a massive risk, as he fused jazz, classical, and pop music to form something completely new. it could have easily ruined his career had the experiment not worked. This documentary does an admirable job chronicling the lead-up to the first concert where he unveiled his creation to the world.

  I thought this was very thought-provoking and important. I'm not sure we live in a time where fake news is novel, but it's certainly more prolific and we're more susceptible to it than ever. It reminded me of another interesting 4-part documentary called The Century of Self, that exposes the uses of propaganda by the government and business to influence in subversive ways throughout history.
