Yes it’s cheap, but it was engaging for me. Basically everyone in this movie winds up being a bad person. The twists were good early on, but then some of them started becoming a little rushed and the movie seemed like it both rushed and dragged its way to the end. And hey, Morgan Freeman.

Takers 2010
Sure it’s a fairly generic action movie. But I love action movies like this. Hayden Christensen is easily the best part. He gets his own little fight scene, a decent chunk of screen time behind Idris Elba, Matt Dillon and is probably even on time with Paul Walker. And Hayden wears a little hat that is equal parts awful and amazing.

The Equalizer 3 2023
Much slower than either of the first two, it takes a while to get into this one. There’s also a lot of Italian subtitles. But once it all gets going this one is just as good as the previous two. Denzel Washington continues to be amazing as Robert McCall. His smooth line deliveries are phenomenal. The action and violence, while not as frequent, still matches up to the benchmark established by its predecessors. The way everything is interconnected is fun to unravel and the final Dakota Fanning twist is great.
