  i didn’t think anything would beat psycho ii for me, but i’m blown away by how good this was !!
  i loved how 80s slasher it was - the neon, the nudity, the GORE - and i really appreciated all the references perkins made to hitchcock. this film didn’t rely on cheap jumpscares, just the knowledge of what norman / mother is capable of was enough to ramp up the tension. norman’s smile as he strokes the dead mrs spool’s detached hand in the final scene will be permanently etched into my brain i fear
