Been circling this for a while. Loved that Osgood Perkins put every bit of his style into this.
Gorgeously shot, oddly entertaining, and distrubing as hell- ultimately doesn't amount to much in the end. It's VERY true to the source material fairy tale for better or for worse.
Any movie, especially horror, that is this well crafted is worth watching.
P.S- the kid that played Hansel was awfully miscast. So annoying lol

Most tears I've shed watching a movie in a long time. What an achievement from this cast and crew- absolutely gut-wrenching.
I'm one of five boys and it may sound cheesy but the unconditional "brotherly love" theme here is so real and it made me quite emotional. As a viewer, you buy that these brothers were best friends and would do absolutely anything for each other (which is also a testament to the incredible cast and their performances).
