  I remember hearing about the Burj Khalifa stuff from when this movie came out but holy shit that sequence was epic. knowing Cruise did his own stunts on that was absolutely insane and made the fear of watching it incredibly real. and oh my god does he get beat up a lot in this one!! not sure why a guy who had only done animated features before directed this one, it felt a bit more comic book-y and the score…

  I think my cheeks hurt from smiling and are also stained from my tears

  
  this film was so lovely!! you can tell it was made from the heart and with so much care. the cinematography was amazing, from the gorgeous shots of rural India to the overhead shots of the main character’s mother preparing food. some moments were very wes anderson inspired which i loved!
  i would probably give this movie 5 stars if it trimmed about 5 minutes off…
