saw too many reviews where people lowk missed the point. the movie entertains more self awareness than people like to give credit. i think the concept of him being attracted to an idea rather than a person is made clear through the contextless and self-centered perceptions through which we saw summer, which is why she wasn't given much personality, we're looking at her through the guy's (forgot his name lmao) eyes. and it is known he has a pattern of doing this because of that last scene. her name being autumn was soooooooooooo hilarious. liked this movie a lot more than i anticipated tbh!!!

I Saw the TV Glow 2024
I get it, I get the premise and I understand how the characters may feel as though they cannot live life to the fullest or seek enlightenment in their environment. And I get that the Pink Opaque is not just a TV show upon which their escapism dances and dallies, but a metaphor for what life would be like if they could actually mean something, if they could have a substantial role. I get that. But I cannot relate and I cannot care and it's not a universal feeling nor problem.
